Thse show developing race course situations and explain the rules that apply - an incredibly simple yet powerful way to learn and understand. And UK-Halsey is providing their Ruldes Gadget at no charge to anyone with a website.
Once installed, UK-Halsey can remotely refrest the animations package, replacing the five rules situations with new material automatically, keeping come-back interest high. The rules analysis for each situation has been developed by Rob Overton, who was recently appointed Chairman of US Sailing's Racing Rules Committee, effectively the chief rules writer for the United States; so the reliablity of his wise advice is above any challenge."TTPYC Racing -http://www.blogger.com/profile/09333093800933231880noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1667210559702400114.post-33499683023305995482009-03-02T21:13:00.001-08:002009-03-02T21:22:48.396-08:00Spring Series 2009 April 2, 9, 16, 30 and May 7SAILING INSTRUCTIONS Spring Series 2009 April 2, 9, 16, 30 and May 7

ELIGIBILITY Category III yachts or better with additional requirement to have personal lights, (during races that extend into darkness), whistles and radar reflector installed.

START/FINISH LINEBetween the Committee Boat and start/finish buoy offshore of the Des Moines Marina.

COURSE Defined by course designations on Committee Boat. "While competitors generally liked the 'game' they produced, many sailors and officials called for simplification."

In response, the rules committees of US Sailing and the Royal Yachting Association developed several drafts of possible revisions to Section C, and proposed rules were tested on the water by various fleets in 2006. Some of those tests were conducted by the fleets that race in CYC races on Lake Washington.

The ISAF then appointed five rules experts from the U.K. and the U.S.A., including Rose, to develop the new Section C rules.
Rose said sailors who have new rule books should bring them to the seminar.

Rule books also will be available for purchase.

Tickets will be on sale at the door at $15 for Adults and $5 for students, payable by cash or check at the door.

The Sailing Foundation provides grants to help high school and college teams travel to national championships and assists in acquiring boats for youth racing fleets in the Puget Sound area. Corinthian Yacht Club is the largest sailboat racing club in the Northwest.

The theater where the seminar will be held is part of the Magnuson Park Community Center. To reach the theater, enter Magnuson Park from Sand Point Way at NE 74th Street ( the location of the security gate used when the park was a U.S. Navy Base). Then turn right on 62nd Avenue NE, and the Community Center is the large brick building about 100 yards up the street on the left.

Sponsored by Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle - www.cycseattle.org http://www.cycseattle.org/2009_specific/rules_program.html
TTPYC Racing -http://www.blogger.com/profile/09333093800933231880noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1667210559702400114.post-12060364479552672832008-11-26T19:46:00.000-08:002008-11-26T19:52:15.475-08:00Windjammer Series 2009 January 17, 31 February 21Special Instructions:

A minimum of three crew are required, including skipper, on each competing yacht.

Start Line

The start line is the line between the RC flag posted on the end of the Des Moines fishing pier extending to “K” mark.Finish Line The finishing line shall be a line extended from the RC flag on the end of the Des Moines fishing pier extending to “K” mark.

Courses

Blake Island Start between the RC Flag and start mark “K”. leave “K” mark to starboard.
